Chick-fil-A to open its first cashier-less restaurant
A new location of Chick-fil-A won’t have cashiers.
The fast food chain is opening its first-ever mobile pickup restaurant. Set to open on Thursday, March 21 in New York City’s upper East Side neighborhood, the restaurant will not have a dining room, or a drive-thru and will focus solely on delivery and mobile app ordering.
The mission of the restaurant is to combine Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality with a “digital-focused experience,” the chain said in a press release.
Customers will be able to order ahead for delivery or carryout via the Chick-fil-A app or online, and the restaurant will be alerted by geofencing when customers are on their way. Digital screens inside the restaurant will show the status of orders and customers and delivery drivers will be able to see when their orders are ready in real time.
