Chick-fil-A opened first elevated drive-thru restaurant today
Chick-fil-A, known for its efficiency when serving customers, has a new plan to ensure it can feed even more people in a timely manner. Today, a new drive-thru only restaurant opens south of Atlanta in McDonough, Ga.
According to a press release, Chick-fil-A Jodeco Road is the “first elevated drive-thru restaurant in the chain.”
“A first-of-its-kind restaurant for Chick-fil-A, the drive-thru only restaurant features four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen with a unique meal transport system,” the press release says. “The concept was strategically designed to increase speed-of-service and simplify the drive-thru experience for guests.”
The unique eatery has four drive-thru lanes and a “sophisticated conveyer belt system that streamlines food delivery by quickly moving the meal from the elevated kitchen above to a Team Member on the ground below,” Chick-fil-A says. “The kitchen is two times larger than a typical Chick-fil-A restaurant kitchen and the food conveyor system allows for a meal to be delivered to a Team Member every six seconds.”
The eatery, located at 2155 Jodeco Road, does not offer dine-in services. Like other restaurants in the chain, it will be open Mondays through Saturdays, from 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
According to the press release, this Chick-fil-A has “the capacity to support two to three times more vehicles than a standard Chick-fil-A restaurant drive-thru.”
Customers can order in two ways: in the drive-thru line or through the Chick-fil-A App, using mobile-only lanes.
