Chick-fil-A made a big change to its famous fries. Not everyone likes it
Fans of Chick-fil-A are airing their grievances online after the fast food chain made a slight change to one of its most popular menu items.
Chick-fil-A recently announced a change to its Waffle Potato Fries recipe, saying it made a “slight adjustment” to the fries by adding pea starch to the coating. The change – per Chick-fil-A – offers the same great taste while also making the fries “stay crispier, longer.”
“Food safety and quality are our top priorities, and we take great care in adhering to stringent food safety procedures. While the new recipe doesn’t contain any of the nine major allergens, the new Waffle Potato Fries coating does contain pea starch,” the chain said on its website.
What are people saying about the new Chick-fil-A waffle fries?
Not everyone is enthused about the change, reports the AJC.
“CFA I love you more than anyone,” Daryl-Ann Denner commented in a Chick-fil-A Instagram post. “You can do no wrong. Except the fries. Please put them back.”
“Your new fries are terrible,” wrote Melissa Gayman. “I can’t even eat them anymore and they were my favorite thing. Please go back!”
While diners seems to be disgruntled at the change, Chick-fil-A says the recipe isn’t new. In a statement to TODAY.com, the fast food chain said it has been testing the recipe for a year.
