Cherokee County woman dies in head-on collision

A Cedar Bluff woman was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday morning in Cherokee County.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the two-vehicle crash happened at about 9:19 a.m. Wednesday, on Alabama 9 near Cherokee County 80, about three miles north of Cedar Bluff.

Clair M. Bryant, 22, was injured when the 2008 Jeep Cherokee she was driving collided head-on with a 2020 Dodge Durango, driven by Taleena L. Kelley, 53, of Cave Spring, Ga.

Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelley was injured and transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Ga.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
