Check out trailer for ‘Mr. McMahon,’ upcoming Netflix documentary on former WWE head

The trailer is out for “Mr. McMahon,” the 6-part Netflix documentary series about WWE impresario Vince McMahon that will be released later this month.

From executive producers Chris Smith (of Tiger King fame) and Bill Simmons (who helped create ESPN’s 30 for 30 series), “Mr. McMahon” debuts on Netflix Sept. 25. It includes interviews with wrestling superstars The Rock, Triple-H, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan, as well as McMahon himself before he was removed as WWE chairman in 2022 following the revelation he had paid several women in connection with sexual assault allegations.

Here’s the trailer, which dropped Thursday:

McMahon, now 79, bought what was then a regional wrestling outfit called the World Wide Wrestling Federation in 1982, and transformed it into a multi-billion-dollar global entertainment empire. But there have long been allegations about his treatment of employees, including widespread steroid abuse among wrestlers.

With it being six parts, “Mr. McMahon” promises to tell the whole story of McMahon’s rise and fall. And given Simmons’ involvement, it seems unlikely to be a hagiography like some more recent sports and sports-adjacent documentaries.
