Charter bus overturns on I-59 in Birmingham; 3 passengers taken to hospital
Three passengers were taken to the hospital after a charter bus overturned on Interstate 59 in Birmingham Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened before 2:30 p.m. on I-59 near the Fourth Avenue South exit.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Lt. Catina Williams said there were 40 passengers on the bus. Multiple people people were checked out on the scene, and three of them taken to the hospital.
The severity of the injuries was not immediately known.
As of 3:30 p.m., crews remained on the scene.
