Charles Barkley’s CNN show ‘King Charles’ canceled after just 6 months

Charles Barkley’s CNN show has ended.

Barkley, who co-hosted “King Charles” alongside Gayle King, signed off last week. The weekly talk show was described as a limited series when it debuted last year.

The show featured King and Barkley offering commentary and interviews on issues from politics to television and more.

In a statement Monday to The Hill, CNN confirmed the news, saying “King Charles has come to the end of its limited run as we announced when it launched last fall and was a great addition to CNN’s lineup, with the youngest, most affluent, and most diverse P2+ audience in its cable news time period.”

Barkley, coming off a stint as an analyst for college basketball, will continue his role as an NBA analyst for TNT.

Last month, Barkley made headlines last month around President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. The former Auburn star once again declared the Democratic party is losing the Black vote because “they only care about Black people every four years.”

For years, the Alabama native was linked to a possible run at governor of the Yellowhammer State. To that point, Barkley has been outspoken over the years about politics.
