Charles Barkley nominates Hugh Freeze, Paul Finebaum, Bruce Pearl for ALS fist bump challenge

Charles Barkley is fist bumping for a good cause.

The NBA analyst made the announcement on “Inside the NBA” on Monday that he was nominated for fist bumps for ALS.

People can donate money and are asked to post a video or photo on social media fist-bumping with the hashtag #FistBumps4ALS. The campaign also encourages people to nominate three others to fist-bump by tagging them in the post.

Barkley, the former Auburn star, nominated Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze, Auburn basketball Bruce Pearl and SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum.

The #FistBumps4ALS is very similar to the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised $220 million for ALS research.

Barkley was nominated by ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, who also tabbed Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, Phillies standout Bryce Harper and former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.

May is ALS awareness month. Communities come together to raise awareness of the disease, share stories from people living with ALS, show our support for caregivers, families, and care workers, and shine a spotlight on those who dedicate their lives to finding a cure.
