Changes are coming to the Costco food court

Enjoy dining in the Costco food court? You may not be able to enjoy that luxury for much longer unless you’re a member. The wholesaler is cracking down on who can enjoy that famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.

According to multiple reports, Costco locations are beginning to post signs saying that as of early April, patrons will need membership cards to make purchases from the food court.

Delish reports a Reddit user posted a photo of a sign spotted at a Costco in Orlando, warning food court patrons that they would soon need a membership card to make a purchase.

“Effective April 8, 2024, an active Costco membership card will be required to purchase items from our food court. You can join today. Please see our membership counter for details,” the sign read.

Fox 5 DC recently reported on a similar sign posted at a Costco in the Woodbridge, Va. area, saying many store locations would require patrons to show an active membership card before dining.

Costco is also adding a menu item to its food court rundown.

NJ.com reports Costco is adding a turkey Swiss cheese sandwich that includes oven-roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, sun-dried tomato spread and a mayo-mustard spread.
