Chamber plays major role in shaping economic development in Huntsville

Lynn Troy has played several roles in her more than eight years on the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber Board of Directors.

She has been treasurer, economic development vice chair, membership vice chair and chair-elect before becoming board chair this year.

Troy has also been a business owner. She and her husband founded Troy7 shortly after getting married in 2007. They sold the company in 2022 following her husband’s retirement in 2020 to Alaska Native company Yulista, which serves the aerospace and the defense industry. But Troy Troy remains president of the company.

“It’s a new adventure being owned by an Alaska Native company, but we get to keep our identity, Troy7,” Troy told the Lede. “I love every minute of it.”

Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, she moved to north Alabama with her family when she was in the fourth grade. She grew up in Arab before going to college at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While at UAH, she majored in electrical engineering.
