Trinity’s Ellie Causey turned it on from 3-point range in the second half and the top-ranked Wildcats pulled away for a 44-31 victory over No. 3 Pleasant Grove in Wednesday’s Class 4A Central Regional semifinal at Alabama State’s Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

Trinity (27-4) shot out to a 7-0 lead midway through the opening period, but the Spartans quickly countered with their own 7-0 run to tie the game. Following a made free throw by the Wildcats, Pleasant Grove closed out the quarter with another 7-0 run to take a 14-8 advantage over Trinity.
