A young Center Point man was killed in a motorcycle crash that authorities say happened while he was fleeing from law enforcement.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Jaden A. Hairston. He was 21.

The wreck happened at 8:42 p.m. Monday on U.S. 11 in Argo in St. Clair County.

Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal said Hairston was driving a Kawasaki 636 motorcycle that hit a Toyota Tacoma driven by 43-year-old Allen R. Thomas of Trussville.

“Hairston was attempting to elude law enforcement when he struck the Toyota,’’ O’Neal said.

Authorities did not say which law enforcement agency was pursuing Hairston or why.

Hairston was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
