Capturing carbon: Mobile County embraces Nebraska-based project to decrease CO2 emissions
A Nebraska-based energy company plans to set up shop in Mobile County to take carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from local industry and inject those gasses deep into the ground for storage.
Tenaska officials announced last week that it is developing a carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility – called the Longleaf CCS Hub – in Mobile County. The project area is about 27 miles north of the city of Mobile and 8 miles east of Citronelle, according to the hub’s website.
