Cake recall impacts Walmart stores nationwide
Cake sold at Walmart stores nationwide is being recalled due to incorrect labeling that left out peanuts as an ingredient.
Some 960 units of “Marketside Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake,” were mislabeled “Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cake,” a name that does not list peanuts as an ingredient and omits a peanut allergen warning on the label, the Food and Drug Administration announced.
The product comes in a 7-ounce, clear plastic package marked with #BS23212 on the top.

No incidents have been reported in connection to the mislabeling but Walmart has removed all Marketside Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake and Marketside Chocolate Chip Explosion Cakes pending further investigation from the retailer and maker David’s Cookies.
Customers who purchased the cake can return to stores for a full refund.
