NFL Week 8 Buccaneers vs. Bills odds preview

Quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Bucs won their first two games but have lost three of their last four to fall to 3-3.

Tampa Bay boasts a top-six scoring defense, limiting opponents to 17.3 points per game, but Mayfield and Co. have struggled to produce points, averaging only 17.2 per game, including just 14.0 over their last four outings.

QB Josh Allen and Bills, meanwhile, are only 4-3 despite possessing both a top-five scoring offense (28.3 points per game) and defense (16.9 ppg).

Offensive turnovers (11) and key injuries on defense (LB Matt Milano, CB Tre’Davious White, DT DaQuan Jones) have been among the biggest issues for Buffalo, which has dropped two of its last three following a 3-1 start.

Nonetheless, the Bills are among Week 8′s biggest favorites, laying a consensus 8.5 points. Thursday’s over/under game total is hovering around 42 points.

Buccaneers vs. Bills best bet: Game total over 42 points (-110 or better)

The Bills are averaging 33.3 points per home game and should be able to put up at least 27 against a solid Bucs defense.

Buffalo’s depleted defense, meanwhile, is showing some leaks and has allowed 20 or more points in three of their last four contests.

Buccaneers vs. Bills top player prop: Dalton Kincaid over 34.5 receiving yards (-114 or better)

Buffalo’s rookie first-round tight end is coming off a career day, catching all eight of his targets for 75 yards in a Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots.

Kincaid also has been sharing time with veteran Dawson Knox, but it was announced Monday that Knox will undergo wrist surgery and will be out indefinitely.

Combined, Kincaid (32.2) and Knox (14.6) have been averaging 46.8 receiving yards per outing, and now the rookie from Utah will be dominating the tight end snaps and targets.
