Buc-ee’s breaking ground in new Southern state
Buc-ee’s, the more-than-just-a-gas station mega chain – is coming to a new Southern state.
The Texas-based chain is set to break ground at a new store in Benton, Arkansas later this month. The store on a 29-acre track at Interstate 30 and Highway 229 less than 30 miles from Little Rock will be the first Buc-ee’s in Arkansas.
KARK.com reported the Arkansas Buc-ee’s will tie with a store in Luling, Texas for the chain’s largest location, coming in at more than 75,000 square feet with over 100 gas pumps and 225 jobs.
Groundbreaking on the site will take place Feb. 19.
While construction on the Arkansas store gets underway, work is also ongoing on what will be Buc-ee’s largest location. Southern Living reported the new Buc-ees in Ocala, Florida will open later this year and is expected to be 80,000 square feet.
There are currently 50 Buc-ee’s locations in nine states – Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
