A Sunday afternoon brush fire shut down Interstate 65 northbound near the 347 mile marker at about 3 p.m., state troopers said.

Traffic headed north toward Tennessee south of Athens is currently closed for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are monitoring the situation.
