The Browns had a huge win in Week 6, becoming the first team to defeat the 49ers this season with a victory built largely on the strength of the league’s best defense, as they gave up just 17 points to the league’s best offense.

That moved Cleveland to .500 for the season, but they may well have to continue without quarterback Deshaun Watson, who looks to be moving back toward full fitness but admitted he can’t put a timeline on when he will be 100% recovered. If he’s inactive again on Sunday, the Browns will likely lean on P.J. Walker for a second straight start.

Meanwhile, the Colts managed just 20 points against the Jaguars last week. Backup QB Gardner Minshew, in for injured rookie Anthony Richardson, threw three interceptions to put the team in a bind that they couldn’t escape from. Star running back Jonathan Taylor was restricted to only 19 rushing yards.

Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium is at noon CT and the Browns, who have the big momentum swing in their favor, are 3-point favorites on the road.

Not many teams have more momentum than Cleveland right now, and they’ve proven they don’t even need Watson to get wins under the belt against good teams.

With Richardson out and Taylor failing to get close to the standards we know he can hit, the Colts are struggling badly right now, and they’ve lost seven of their last eight at home. The Browns’ imperious defense will pile the pressure on Minshew and barring a sudden explosive return to form from Taylor or another unlikely scenario, the Browns could (should?) cover with ease.

Two backup quarterbacks and the league’s best defense? It’s unlikely to be a high-scorer.

Also factor in that the Browns have the league’s No. 1 pass defense (and No. 4 against the rush) but the third-worst passing offense. While recent meetings between these two teams have been pretty high-scoring, the under has hit for the Browns in 10 of their last 12 games (and six of eight against AFC opponents), with totals averaging 33 points per game.

Best Browns vs. Colts game props and odds: Browns to score over 2.5 touchdowns (+106 or better)

OK, so this one is a bit of a flyer, but hear me out.

Firstly, Minshew will likely struggle against this dominant Browns defense. He’s already thrown three interceptions and been sacked eight times this year, and his per-game averages in both categories could increase against Cleveland’s defense. The Browns will have plenty of opportunities to turn over the ball and push forward.

Secondly, whether its Watson or Walker under center, Cleveland relies on the run game and has the fourth-best ground attack in the league right now. On Sunday, that attack faces a Colts defense which has allowed nine rushing touchdowns already, the second-most in the league. These odds, particularly DraftKings’ generous +130, don’t look too bad.
