Broccoli sold by Walmart in 20 states recalled over possible listeria risk
Bagged broccoli florets sold at Walmart stores in 20 states are being recalled due to possible listeria contamination.
California-based grocery producer Braga Fresh is voluntarily issuing a precautionary recall of 12-ounce of washed and ready-to-eat Marketside Broccoli Florets, according to a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The bags of broccoli Florets were sold at more than 1,000 Walmart stores in the following states: best-if-used Arkansas, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, California, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The recalled bags of florets are past their best-if-used date of Dec. 10, 2024. The product is no longer sold in stores, but both Walmart and the FDA have issued warnings that consumers may have stored them in their freezers for later use. Consumers who have the florets in their freezers should discard them.
According to the FDA, this voluntary advisory does not apply to any other Marketside or Braga Fresh produced products.
