Breakers will play 6 USFL games in Birmingham in 2023
The New Orleans Breakers will play six games at Protective Stadium in Birmingham during the 2023 USFL season.
Last year, the USFL staged its entire 40-game regular season in Birmingham. This year, the USFL has spread its eight teams across four hubs, with Birmingham retaining the Breakers and the Birmingham Stallions.
New Orleans’10-game slate includes the Breakers’ five home contests plus a meeting with the Stallions at Protective Stadium as the visiting team.
The Breakers’ 2023 regular-season schedule includes (with all times Central):
· April 16: Pittsburgh Maulers, 5:30 p.m. at Protective Stadium in Birmingham
· April 22: Houston Gamblers, 11:30 a.m. at Protective Stadium in Birmingham
· April 29: Birmingham Stallions, 11:30 a.m. at Protective Stadium in Birmingham
· May 7: New Jersey Generals, 2 p.m. at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio
· May 14: Memphis Showboats, 2 p.m. at Protective Stadium in Birmingham
· May 21: Philadelphia Stars, 11 a.m. at Ford Field in Detroit
· May 27: Birmingham Stallions, 3 p.m. at Protective Field in Birmingham
· June 4: Michigan Panthers, 3 p.m. at Protective Stadium in Birmingham
· June 10: Memphis Showboats, 2 p.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee
· June 18: Houston Gamblers, 3 p.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee
In its games against the Stallions, the Breakers will be the visiting team on April 29 and the home team on May 27.
Both New Orleans and Birmingham also will play at Protective Stadium on April 22, with the Stallions facing Memphis at 6 p.m. after Breakers play the Gamblers at 11:30 a.m.
The USFL is releasing the 2023 schedules for its eight teams at hourly intervals on Tuesday. The Stallions’ schedule was revealed at 9 a.m.
