Brawl at Massachusetts family restaurant on Thanksgiving eve caught on video
A fight broke out at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts and authorities are investigating the incident — with one person reportedly using a glass bottle — according to several news accounts.
A dispute between several young men at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday prompted a large police response at the restaurant at 948 Broadway, WCVB and Boston 25 News reported. The Saugus Police Department did not immediately return a request for comment.
“The Kowloon is a family-friendly restaurant. Unfortunately, a few unruly patrons ruined a nice evening for many others. A disturbance such as this on Thanksgiving Eve is unacceptable and disgusting,” Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli told WCVB.
Six officers already working a police detail at the restaurant, which saw a large crowd gather, were “quickly alerted and able to deescalate the altercation,” police said in a statement to news outlets.
Several witnesses were questioned after the incident but no arrests have been made as of Friday afternoon. Boston 25 News reported that the use of a bottle during the fight may rise to a felony offense and charges may be filed.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday the account for Kowloon posted photos of hundreds waiting to get into the restaurant.
Kowloon did not immediately return a request for comment Friday.
