Brasfield & Gorrie finished 1.1 million square foot Georgia project
Birmingham’s Brasfield & Gorrie recently completed construction on a mammoth Georgia distribution center.
Prologis Riverwest III is a 1.1 million-square-foot cross-dock distribution center with a 40-foot clear height, built on more than 87 acres in Lithia Springs.
The facility includes office space, 211 loading dock door locations, 279 trailer parking spaces and 449 spaces for other motor vehicles.
Ware Malcomb was the architect and will also work on the tenant improvements, which are scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
According to the company, the project used tilt-up construction, which involves the building’s walls being poured in large slabs of concrete on the site. The panels are then tilted into position around the building’s perimeter.
Brasfield & Gorrie has completed more than 450 projects in the industrial market sector, and has been involved in other Prologis projects in Georgia and North Carolina.
