Brandon Miller named Associated Press first-team All-America
Alabama men’s basketball forward Brandon Miller was named Tuesday as a first-team All-American by the voters of the Associated Press.
Miller received 35 of 58 possible first-team votes. He was joined by Purdue’s Zach Edey (58 first-team votes), Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis (44 votes), Kansas’ Jalen Wilson (47 votes) and Houston’s Marcus Sasser (33 votes).

The AP’s All-America list is one of four recognized in the NCAA record book toward consensus status. Miller was already named a first-team All-American by the Sporting News, while the NABC and USBWA have yet to release their All-America lists.
Alabama has never had a consensus first-team All-American. Its only consensus second-team All-American was Leon Douglas in 1975.
Miller is a candidate for major national player of the year awards. He is a semifinalist for the Naismith Award and was retroactively added to the Wooden Award ballot after initially not being included.
