Boys in stolen vehicle arrested after chase, wreck with Montgomery sheriff patrol car

Two boys in a stolen vehicle were arrested Tuesday afternoon after leading authorities on a chase that ended in a wreck with a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office patrol car, police said.

The suspects, who are minors and whose names were not publicly released, were being pursued by Montgomery officers trying to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday near West South Boulevard and I-65, the department told WSFA.

During the chase, the vehicle the boys were in collided with a marked Montgomery Sheriff’s Office vehicle near Selma Highway and Mitchell Young Road, police told the station.

Non-life-threatening injuries were reported following the wreck, but authorities did not say who involved in the incident were hurt.

The suspects fled the scene on foot but were arrested shortly thereafter.

Charges against the boys were not yet filed.
