Some people are adrenaline junkies. Their idea of a good time is riding roller coasters, bungy jumping or jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. They don’t mind paying perfectly good money to participate in an activity that raises the heart rate.

What is the ultimate adrenaline rush in Alabama? I’d vote for hunting alligators in the dark.

I’ve never done it myself, but I have witnessed it from the safety of a game warden’s boat. Even that made me the heebie-jeebies.

In years past, I had an adrenaline junkie vein in me. I drove in two demolition derbies. I drove a racecar in a race at Birmingham International Raceway. Later,

I would plop down my money and apply for an Alabama alligator tag. I was never drawn.
