The body of a kayaker lost in Lake Guntersivlle was recovered this morning by crews.

WHNT is reporting the body was found just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The kayaker, whose name has not been released, was reportedly struck by a barge Monday night at about 9 a.m. Another kayaker was also involved in the incident, but survived.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the U.S. Coast Guard, and local agencies were involved in the search, which continued through Tuesday until today’s discovery.
