Body of female found in Talladega National Forest; investigation underway
An investigation is underway after a female was found dead in the Talladega National Forest.
The discovery was made about 4 p.m. Saturday, about one mile from Blue Hole waterfall, Talladega police Lt. Dennis McDaniel said Tuesday.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, pending an autopsy.
The female has not yet been identified. Her body was taken the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery.
McDaniel said more information will be released once she is identified and her family notified.
