Body of 24-year-old Jasper man found in wooded area, homicide investigation underway
Jasper police appealed to the public for information Monday after the body of a 24-year-old man was found in a wooded area last week in what authorities are investigating as a homicide.
The body of Jasper resident Brandon Marquez Porter, 24, was discovered near the 1100 block of Highway 78 W on July 9.
“Finding out what happened to this young man is a top priority for our department, and detectives have been working tirelessly,” Police Chief J.C. Poe said in a statement Monday.
Porter’s body was sent July 10 to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy.
