One person is dead after authorities recovered a body from a submerged car in Madison County Thursday morning.

WHNT is reporting that the car was found in a pond in Hazel Green.

The driver apparently went off the road through a gate and into a pond.

First responders converged on the scene at U.S. 431, North of Charity Lane.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and the dive team.

The incident is under investigation.
