A Boaz woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Marshall County on Friday afternoon.

Around 1 pm on Friday, Macey Justice, 24, was driving about 10 miles west of Albertville, on Welcome Home Road, said Vu Quang, spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

An Albertville Police Department officer was pursuing her, when the truck she was driving left the road, hit a drain pipe and then struck a tree, authorities say.

Justice was not wearing a seatbelt. She was brought to Huntsville Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the incident.
