Boaz man killed in early morning crash on Highway 205
An early morning crash outside of Albertville claimed the life of a Boaz man Saturday.
Matthew S. Thurmond, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene after the pickup truck he was a passenger in left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. He was not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
The crash occurred just after 2 a.m. Saturday on Alabama Highway 205 near the 13 mile marker.
The driver of the truck, a 25 year-old from Albertville, was also injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
No other vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash, which is still under investigation.
