Boater struck by lightning on Lake Guntersville
A boater was struck by lightning Saturday morning on Lake Guntersville.
Guntersville Fire and Rescue responded to calls at 11:11 a.m. alerting them of the incident, the department told AL.com.
The boater is a middle-aged man who suffered burns and wounds to his hands and legs, according to Guntersville Fire and Rescue. He was transported to Birmingham for treatment.
The department said the man is alive, but they have no further updates on his condition.
Crews from the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, North Marshall Volunteer Fire Department and the Marshall Medical EMA also responded to the incident, which occurred near the Honeycomb Cemetery.
