Bo Nix ‘over’ Auburn, says Oregon beats Georgia if they play again: ‘Everybody knows that’

Oregon’s Bo Nix has no doubts that his Ducks would fare much better against Georgia if they were to meet again.

Yes, that would be the same team in which Oregon lost to 49-3 in the opener. Nix also tossed two interceptions.

“Now, if we played them again tomorrow, the game would be completely different, and everybody knows that,” Nix told CBS Sports.

Oregon is certainly playing better since. The Ducks have scored more than 40 points in every game. With that in mind, Nix was asked if he thought his team would win a re-match.

“I do,” Nix said. “From the first game of the season, a lot of teams get so much better.”

If he were to get the chance to play – and beat – Georgia, it would be his first win against the Bulldogs. He’s 0-4, dating back to his time at Auburn.

In the in-depth CBS piece, Nix also talks about his time at Auburn.

“Last year, I was just kind of over it,” he told CBS Sports. “Each week it was something else. There was, quite frankly, nothing I could do about it. I just remember kind of being miserable. It wasn’t fun anymore.”

Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham, who worked with Nix at Auburn in 2019, summed it up this way.

“Auburn is always intense,” Dillingham said. “It’s intense when you’re winning because, when you’re winning at a high level, it’s the year you need to win a natty. It’s intense when you’re losing because you shouldn’t be losing. It’s intense 24/7.”

Nix threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns and No. 10 Oregon handed No. 9 UCLA its first loss of the season 45-30 on Saturday.

After the game, a reporter asked the former Auburn quarterback “what’s different for you this year because you are on a different level than in the past?”

Here’s his answer.
