Bo Jackson burger coming to Birmingham’s Regions Field
Of course, Bo knows burgers, too.
Bo Jackson – the Auburn football legend, Heisman Trophy winner, former Major League Baseball All-Star Game MVP, and eponymous hero of those iconic “Bo Knows” Nike ads – is bringing his Bo’s Burgers to Birmingham’s Regions Field this baseball season.
At a sneak peek for the media earlier today, the Birmingham Barons unveiled their concession stand items for their upcoming 2025 Southern League season, and the star of this year’s menu will be the Bo’s Hometown Burger, a bodacious Angus beef burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, an onion ring and special sauce served on a Kaiser roll.
The Bo burger – which sells for $12 solo or $16 with a combo that includes fries – will be available at the Magic City Food Court at Regions Field starting with the Barons’ home opener against the Knoxville Smokies on April 4.
Also, Jackson will make a special appearance at Regions Field later in the season when he comes back to Birmingham to throw out the first pitch before the Barons’ July 25 game with the Montgomery Biscuits.
“And he’s going to serve some customers at the concession stand with the Bo burger,” Gus Stoudemire, director of food and beverage for the Barons and Parkview Catering, says. “It’s good for Bo to be coming back home, and we’re real excited about that.”
Jackson, who grew up in Bessemer, briefly played for the Barons in 1991 during his rehabilitation from a hip injury that cut short his football career, and he also played parts of three seasons with the Barons’ parent team, the Chicago White Sox.

Bringing his burger to Birmingham means “something special” to Jackson, Barons general manager Jonathan Nelson tells AL.com.
“Josh Barfield, the White Sox assistant general manager, reached out to me a month ago and said Bo wants to contact us about having some of his burgers, his products, here at Regions Field,” Nelson says. “We’ve had several different conference calls with Bo.
“It meant a lot for him to be able to have his product here,” Nelson adds. “Obviously, this is his hometown, and he wants to sell his product at a variety of different other sporting venues, but it meant something special to be here. . . .
“To be able to showcase his product here at Regions Field this season and have Bo be a part of that is something we’re excited about and know our fans are going to really enjoy it.”
