Blount County man convicted of sexually torturing, abusing 3-year-old girl

A Blount County man was convicted Wednesday of sexually torturing and sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl.

Jeffery Allen Gable, 54, of Blountsville, was found guilty by a Blount County jury of one count of sexual torture of a child under 12 years old and one count of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old, court records showed.

“Once again, I appreciate the work of our partners at DHR, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Blount County Sheriff’s Department who had a role in bringing another sexual predator to justice,” said Blount County District Attorney Pamela L. Casey in a statement.

“My heart breaks every time I see a child walk in a courtroom to testify in a sexual abuse case. But, we are fortunate here in Blount County to have a team of professionals devoted to seeking justice on behalf of victims of these crimes.”

Authorities in Blount County received a report in June 2020 alleging Gable sexually abused a 3-year-old girl, according to Scott Gilliland, assistant district attorney for the 41st Judicial Circuit of Alabama, which covers Blount County.

Gable’s sentencing was scheduled for Dec. 4.
