Black Market Bar and Grill moving from Five Points South to Avondale Common House location
Black Market Bar and Grill plans to leave Five Points South in April and move to Avondale by May, co-owner George Cowgill said.
“We are doing the same thing, just moving it to Avondale,” Cowgill said.
Black Market will take over the building that was previously Avondale Common House. The only change will be a move away from hosting live concerts, since it will be adjacent to two concert venues, Saturn and Avondale Brewing, Cowgill said.
The move closely follows the announcement that Miracle Pizza Co. would be taking over the former site of Post Office Pies, which closed recently.
Two other restaurants have announced plans to move to Avondale.
PURE Taqueria, a Mexican restaurant chain based in Alpharetta with seven locations in Georgia, says it plans to move into the former Melt restaurant building in Avondale.
James Beard Award-winning Nashville chef Sean Brock has partnered with the Pihakis group to open a new restaurant at the former Rodney Scott’s location at 3719 Third Ave. South in Avondale.
