Birmingham Zoo shares animals’ version of Valentine’s Day date ideas

Looking for a unique date or gift idea for Valentine’s Day? The Birmingham Zoo has you covered.

The zoo is sharing some of their animals’ ideas for a perfect Valentine’s Day date across its social media pages.

Waya the Harris Hawk’s perfect Valentine’s date would have to be a night of sightseeing, with a spot that has lights and a good view of the Magic City, according to the zoo.

Androcles the Pancake Tortoise suggests the perfect Valentine’s date is a romantic stroll around the town, followed with a good and healthy green dinner. Now as for Indy the Blue Tongued Skink, she believes that the perfect date night is to grab a scoop of your favorite ice cream and enjoy a afternoon of window shopping.

Other animals’ ideas for dates can be found on the zoo’s social media pages.

Looking for a gift, too?

The Birmingham Zoo is hosting an “Adopt an Animals” event, where a person can symbolically adopt an animal at the zoo. Adoption packages differ but all come with an adoption certificate, photo and fact sheet. Each adoption provides food, welfare, and vital care for the animals.

There are five different adoption packages to choose from. Higher-priced packages come with additional items like stuffed animals of the adopted animal.

Adoptions are symbolic and don’t transfer the ownership of the animal.
