Birmingham woman killed, 2 others injured when truck hits car parked on side of I-20
A 26-year-old woman was killed in a weekend crash in St. Clair County.
Alabama State Troopers announced the death Wednesday and identified the victim as Tamiyah L.R. Campbell.
The crash happened at 4:25 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 20, about three miles west of Pell City.
Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Campbell was a passenger in a Lincoln MKS that was struck by a Ford F-250. The Lincoln was parked on the interstate’s shoulder when it was hit.
After the initial impact, the Ford F-250 overturned.
Campbell was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, Farrar said, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Lincoln, 31-year-old Dominique Rutledge of Birmingham, was taken to UAB Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The driver of the truck, 22-year-old Gregory H. Blue of Pelham, was also taken to UAB Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
