Birmingham Water Works pays to join group that rated it worst for customer satisfaction

After years of ranking among the worst public utilities in the nation when it comes to customer satisfaction ratings, the Birmingham Water Works board voted to spend thousands of dollars to join the organization that routinely issues them failing grades.

In an effort to improve its customer satisfaction ratings, the board last week voted to pay $37,500 to J.D. Power and Associates for a membership subscription.
