Birmingham upscale Japanese restaurant sets opening date
Johin’na, Birmingham’s new upscale Japanese restaurant, will open Aug. 1.
The restaurant, located at 2002 Second Avenue North, occupies space at The Frank, Orchestra Partners’ $40 million transformation of the 120,000-square-foot Frank Nelson Building.
The restaurant announced the opening date on social media, promising “Elevated dishes…Signature cocktails…A vibe like no other.”
Johin’na offers a menu of appetizers, oysters, seafood, entrees, nagiri and sushimi, grilled skewers and cocktails. You can also make reservations at the website.
The Birmingham City Council last year authorized financial and tax incentives to Johin’na under the city’s RISE program.
The Frank was originally built to be the First National Bank Building in 1903.
