Birmingham towing company adds dognapping to their list of offenses, one driver says
Local realtor and pet parent Ethan Jett faced quite the shock this month after a run in with local towing company Parking Enforcement Systems (PES) ended up with him frantically searching for both his car and his dog who had been left inside.
The Friday before Mother’s Day, Jett said he parked his car in what he thought was approved customer parking for Levy’s Fine Jewelry on 2nd Avenue North while he ran into the store to pick up the gifts he had ordered for his mother and his girlfriend’s mother.
“We were just kind of running around and had my dog with me because he doesn’t do well in the house by himself for long periods of time,” Jett said. “He’s an 80-pound lab or something so he can really tear something up.
“We went to Levy’s to get the Mother’s Day presents for my mom and my girlfriend’s mom. And they have signs that say, you know, Levy’s customer parking here or whatever. Across from those there’s a massive sign in the parking lot that says weekends and overnight pay here. It was Friday, so I figured it’d be fine.
“When I got into the store, I realized immediately that I didn’t have my wallet and walked immediately out of the store. And my car, along with my dog, was gone.”
