Birmingham stocks have their ups and downs
Birmingham-area stocks saw a mix of small gains and small declines Monday.
U.S. Steel continued its positive form, pulling up 3%.
Jacobs Solutions, the Dallas-based international technical professional services firm with Alabama locations in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile, shot up 2%.
Medical Properties Trust rose 1.2%.
On the down side, ProAssurance fell 3%, while Community Health Systems lost 2.4%.
Overall, Wall Street held a bit firmer Monday following a painful three-week losing streak.
