Birmingham Stallions lineman nominated for UFL Sportsman of the Year Award
Birmingham Stallions offensive lineman Barry Wesley has been nominated for the United Football League Sportsman of the Year Award for the 2025 season.
The award will be presented at the UFL Championship Game on June 14 to the player “who best exemplifies the league’s core values by demonstrating excellence on the field and a deep commitment to community service off it.”
Each USFL team has a nominee for the Sportsman of the Year Award. The other nominees are:
- Memphis Showboats defensive end Jaylon Allen
- St. Louis Battlehawks outside linebacker Travis Feeney
- Arlington Renegades tight end Seth Green
- Michigan Panthers guard Ryan Nelson
- Houston Roughnecks safety Leon O’Neal Jr.
- DC Defenders wide receiver Chris Rowland
- San Antonio Brahmas tight end Steven Stilianos
Wesley has started at right guard, left guard and left tackle for the Stallions this season.
Birmingham concludes its regular season against the Memphis Showboats at 2 p.m. CDT Sunday at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. FOX will televise the game.
The Stallions already have secured a spot in the USFL Conference Championship Game, where they’ll play the Michigan Panthers at 2 p.m. June 8 at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. ABC will televise the game.
