Birmingham self-storage facility sells for $7.85 million
A new construction self-storage facility in Birmingham recently sold for $7.85 million.
Real estate brokerage firm Marcus & Millichap announced today the sale of the property at 1500 Tedescki Drive, which has a total of 503 storage units.
With 289 climate-controlled and 214 non-climate-controlled units, the facility is located off Lakeshore Parkway, next to Publix and Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Ross Bridge.
Ziff Real Estate Partners of Charleston, S.C., bought the property from Copper Storage Solutions. Eddie Greenhalgh, Jake Payne and Lee Thornton, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Birmingham office, marketed the property, which had multiple out-of-state offers.
“We expect this facility to do very well based on the quality of construction, location and professional management,” Greenhalgh, senior director national self-storage division, said. “This was a great transaction for both buyer and seller considering the challenging market conditions.”
Public Storage, the largest owner and operator of storage facilities in the world, will manage the property.
