Birmingham police investigate possible homicide: Shots reportedly fired as man is struck by vehicle

Birmingham police are investigating a possible homicide after a man was reportedly struck by a vehicle driven by a woman who then fired a gun.

The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Easter Sunday in the 700 block of Lisa Lane, which is just off Roebuck Forest Drive.

Dispatchers told police and firefighters the man was trapped under a vehicle and the woman driving reportedly had a gun and fired shots.

More shots were fired as police arrived on the scene and officers issued a 10-33 call for all possible assistance.

More than 25 police cars responded to the scene.

Two people were detained and the man died at the scene.

Police walked about half a dozen crying elementary aged children from the crime scene and drove them off in police cars.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more is known.
