The Birmingham News Power 5 ranks the top softball teams in the area regardless of class.

Postseason play began on Friday with area tournaments — some didn’t start until Monday — with all completed no later than Tuesday.

Those games resulted in some shakeups for Birmingham area teams in this week’s Power 5.
