Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin expecting first child with wife, Kendra

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin is expecting his first child with wife Kendra Woodfin, he announced on Facebook Sunday.

“Kendra, LOVE is beautiful! LOVE is all we need!” Woodfin captioned a photo of the couple, with his hand over her stomach. “Baby Woodfin coming August 2024.”

This will be Woodfin’s first child. Kendra Woodfin, formerly Kendra Morris, has two children from a previous marriage.

Randall Woodfin was elected mayor of Birmingham in 2017 and was reelected in 2021. He previously served as President of the Birmingham City Board of Education and as an assistant city attorney.

Kendra Woodfin is owner and broker at Iron City Premier Realty, a real estate brokerage based in Birmingham. The Woodfins are Birmingham natives.

The Woodfins got married last fall, and their wedding was featured in the New York Times’ “Vows” section. Kendra Woodfin told the New York Times they began dating in 2021 after she told him she’d had a dream about him.

“I told him I’d dreamed that we were just riding around in a black truck downtown, listening to music, and it was raining,” Kendra Woodfin told the New York Times.
