Birmingham man shot on motorcycle in ‘targeted’ North Titusville homicide identified
A man shot to death in North Titusville Wednesday afternoon while riding a motorcycle has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Thursday that Obray Carter, 39, of Birmingham, was shot to death in an incident at about 12:30 p.m. in the area of First Avenue South and Center Street South.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald with Birmingham police said officers arrived at the scene to find an unresponsive man slumped over on a motorcycle.
Carter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the man either stopped in the area, or was riding his motorcycle, when someone fired shots at him.
“We are treated this incident as a targeted shooting,” Fitzgerald said.
