A Birmingham man has died following a single-vehicle crash.

Kavine Anton Wheeler, 45, was driving in the 2500 block of Ensley Avenue when the wreck happened at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities said Wheeler’s vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole.

He was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m. Friday.

Birmingham police are investigating the fatal crash.
