‘Birmingham is amazing’: DWTS pro previews Alabama show

Dancing with the Stars: Live” has officially kicked off its 2023 tour and will be making a stop in Birmingham on Feb 22, 2023 at the BJCC Concert Hall.

Alan Bersten, one of the show’s dance pros, told AL.com on Saturday that he is excited to return to Birmingham.

“Birmingham is amazing,” he said in an interview. “I’m going to go ahead and say what my favorite thing is: (Alabama-Style) white barbecue sauce.”

Bersten joined “Dancing with the Stars” during season 20 and later made his debut a pro during season 25. He even took home the coveted mirrorball trophy during season 28 with Bachelorette lead and Alabama native Hannah Brown.

According to Bersten, live DWTS performances are a much more personal experience for fans as compared to watching the pros on TV.

“The energy, honestly, it’s unmatchable,” he said. “The show on TV is amazing but, when you’re dancing on that stage in front of thousands of people, everyone in that room just kind of unites and just has fun together because it is truly so much fun.”

Bersten jokingly added that his favorite part of the tour, as opposed to the regular season DWTS competition, is not worrying about getting eliminated.

He added, “Truly, (my favorite part) is meeting all the people, as cliche as that sounds,” he said. “Some of these audience members have been watching since season one and they have truly just grown with us and it just feels really nice to be able to see them in a room, dancing with them.”

Though season 31 winner Charli D’Amelio will not be present for the DWTS live show in Birmingham, runner up Gabby Windey from “The Bachelorette” can be expected to perform Feb. 22.

Tickets for the performance in Birmingham can be purchased primarily through Ticketmaster. However, more seating options can be found through official resale sites such as Vivid Seats, SeatGeek and StubHub.

These sites carry resale tickets that have already been claimed through Ticketmaster, providing fans more seating options that would otherwise not be available through Ticketmaster.

SeatGeek in particular will let the buyer know if the seller is actually offering a fair price for their tickets or not.

However, those who purchase tickets through Vivid Seats can save $20 on ticket orders over $200 with the promo code ‘AL20′ at checkout. This promo code will work for any tickets purchased through Vivid Seats.
